British Shorthair

The British Shorthair is instantly recognizable by its round face, dense plush coat, and calm, dignified presence — often called the “teddy bear” of cat breeds. Originally developed from British street cats, the breed is sturdy, medium-to-large in size, and comes in a wide range of colors, most famously “British Blue.” Temperament-wise, they are easygoing, affectionate without being clingy, and content to relax nearby rather than climb into your lap. They adapt well to apartment life and get along calmly with children and other pets. Their thick coat needs weekly brushing, especially during seasonal shedding.
